In February 2007 the association Africa e Mediterraneo, in partnership with ENAV (Escola das Artes Visuais) presented a comics exhibition and a workshop in Maputo within the project "Africa Comics: the development of African comics as a gateway for communication and cultural exchange with Mozambique".
The Africa Comics exhibition was officially opened on February the 20th by the Vice-Minister of Education and Culture of Mozambique together with a representative of Italian Cooperation in Maputo. Twelve students participated to the seminar and completed the training course producing a comic each. Some of the big moments of the workshop were the interventions made by very prestigious personalities such as Machado da Graca (recognized as one of the main leader of Comics in Mozambique), Luis Lage (Architect and teacher at the Faculty of Architecture in Maputo) and representatives of the Human Right Movement in Mozambique.
