In the poorest quarter of Antananarivo little Setra is working in the street. Suddenly he is stopped by two men who introduce themselves as friends of his mother. They arrange an appointment for the next night, with an aggressive attitude; Setra accepts, frightened. He is forced into committing a robbery, but a policeman stops him: the two outlaws run away. The little boy is brought back to his mother, who does not know the people responsible for the robbery. However she will be judged by a court with the accusation of leaving her son in the street when he ought to have been at school. Setra will be given over to a catholic community.
